Embedded System:

A field of Engineering that covers the mimicking of various human Characteristics includes the mechanical, electronic, electrical & computer science engineering. An automatic industrial machine, robot replacing the human in hazardous world and useful in all aspects of life.

Embedded system is a combination of self-contained programs those are embedded within a piece of hardware and is housed on a single microprocessor board with the programs stored in ROM created with optimal efficiency, thereby allowing it to complete specific functions as quickly as possible & programmed to automate certain tasks. Cell phones, computers, copiers, medical equipment, programmable logic controllers, and numerous other products rely on embedded systems. Real time embedded systems can be used to replace traditional software applications.

Mechatronics (Mechanical + Electronics) which combines electrical, mechanical, electronic and software engineering is fairly new in India. "There is a huge demand in industry for people with this education and training," said Farid Golnaraghi, the director of the SFU program who initiated a similar degree at Waterloo. "There is so much demand, these engineers can work anywhere they want."
